CHICAGO: Aarush Entertainment and Manav Seva Mandir presented Chaitra Navratri Garba by Bharti Desai recently at Manav Seva Mandir, Bensenville, a Chicago suburb.
For Garba, the members were adorned with beautiful and traditional attire, Chaniya-Choli and Kurta-pajama. The whirling dancers, clapping hands, distinct sound of wooden ‘Dandia’ striking together, toe tapping music and people wearing vibrant colorful clothes marked the Navratri celebrations at the Garba & Dandiya Raas,
Chaitra Navratri is a nine days festivity which starts on the first day of Hindu Luni-Solar calendar and falls in the month of March or April. Chaitra is the first month of Hindu lunar calendar and because of it this Navratri is known as Chaitra Navratri. Chaitra Navratri is also known as Vasanta Navratri.
The Aarti table was beautifully decorated in the center of the hall with flowers, fruits and candle lamps around the pictures of Amba Mata and Modheshwari Mata, observed Manoj Rathod, President of Aarush, “Our goal was to create a special spiritual bonding experience for all the friends and family celebrating Chaitra Navratri this year, “ he said
The lead singer at the event, Bharti Desai enthralled the audience with her renderings. She started with the Three-clap Garba, “Kum Kum Kera Pagale Madi”. She sang the Classical “Raksha Karo Ambe Maa Bhavani”. She continued amazing Garbas in Two Taali. In Raas everybody enjoyed “Disco Dandia”, “Sanedo”, “Amu Kaka Bapa Na”, “Bhai-Bhai”, “Hitch”. She sang all what the Khelaiys wanted to hear for their dance and continued with Mataji’s Arti, Thaal&Stuti. She was accompanied by Amit Desai (Side Rhythm), ShivamThakker (Dhol&Tabla), Mahavrat (Octopad), Vedant (Key Board), Harish Shukla (Sound Engineer).
