Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process. The Eagle Scout rank has been earned by over 2.5 million youth.

Ananth Kartik R. Junutula, Troop 273 worked on the restoring fence around the Temple/Praying House at Fremont Hindu Temple, 3676 Delaware Drive, Fremont in the month of March, 2021. The team repaired and painted the 420-feet long metal fence (height 3.5 feet) around the Fremont Hindu temple. They also stabilized the 30 fence poles with cement, making sure the fence renovation stays sturdy. In addition, they also sealed over 400 fence rail ends and 120 gate rail ends with plastic caps to prevent the water leak for long-term durability.

The team completed this project in 5 days (March 6, March 7, March 13th, March 14th and March 28th) from 9am-4pm. This project actually finished sooner than expected as Mr. Eraiah helped with the suggestion of using paint rollers instead of paintbrushes, said Ananth.File_035

My sincere thanks to 11 scout families for their generous donation of $460 and Home Depot/Lowes stores for giving a total of $75 discount coupons that helped me to purchase needed 10 gallons of high quality Rustoleum black paint. I would like to thank 36 scouts/youth and 18 adult volunteers who generously contributed a total of 300 community service hours at my project, added Ananth.

Fremont Hindu Temple is the oldest temple in the Bay area and has been a cultural hub from 1983. The temple encourages and motivates the scout projects and is looking forward to work with many groups in the future.
