ITASCA: Bhartiya Senior Citizens of Chicago, Gujarati Samaj of Chicago and Kadva Patidar of Chicago organized “Gunvanti Gujarat,” Gujarati Lok Sangeet and Jajarman Jalso program on June 3 at Midwest Swaminarayan Temple, Itasca, a northwest suburb of Chicago.
More than 500 people and their guests enjoyed this beautiful program. All the three organizations conducted a Lamp Lighting ceremony with sponsors Chhotubhai Patel, Jayantibhai Patel, Jasbir Suga (Suga Builder), Mithabhai Patel, Mafatbhai Patel ,Rajesh Desai (KPS President), Jatin Patel, Haribhai Patel (BSC President) and Suryakant Patel (GSC President)
Dilip Rawal flew from India and was the Master of Ceremony. Bhavna Modi welcomed every one. Rawal handled whole program pretty well from beginning to end. Madhuri Goswami sang Avinas Vyas written Gujarat folk songs, Suny Jhadhav and Kalpesh Kharva sang Zawerch and Meghani poems and Gujarati Qawali in their own style.
Members and invited guests sat till the end – 1 am – very engrossed and enjoying the entire program. All the three organization presidents – Haribhai Patel, Suryakant Patel, Rajesh Dosai – thanked the sponsors and the patrons who lent their support thru advertisements.
