BOSTON, MA: A magnificent event was organized virtually by Maheshwari Mahasabha of North America (MMNA) Sakhi Team on the occasion of Gangur festival on April 10th, 2021. More than 220 Sakhis joined two hour event.

All beautiful Sakhis joined the evening in Rajasthani traditional attire. Event consisted of Ganesh Vandana, a Marwari poem to welcome all the attendees, Ghoomar dance, Bollywood quizzes, traditional art workshop and informative session on Gangaur, followed by Gangaur theme inter- chapter performance competitions. The winner of the evening was South West chapter, 1st Runner up was New England chapter and 2nd Runner up was South East chapter- they all won audience heart with their energetic performances. Sakhis participated and enjoyed virtual games with full enthusiasm.  During the event Sakhis showcased and ate sweets prepared by them.

The event was held in the presence of President of MMNA Sakhi Team Mrs. Abhilasha Rathi, she appreciated of all the hard work put down by the volunteers that made the event successful. National executive member of MMNA Sakhi Team Mrs. Lata Maheshwari made her valuable presence in the event. The Advisors of MMNA Sakhi Team Past President Seema Rathi, Mrs. Poonam Bhutada and Mrs. Anita Ajmera motivated everyone with their views.

Amazing work was done by National Sakhis Mrs. Surekha Soni, Mrs. Anjali Daga, Mrs. Neeta Rathi and Mrs. Deepika Toshniwal in structuring of the mesmerizing event.Emcees Neha Rathi and Manisha Biyani were extremely entertaining and added extra magic to the event with their charming personalities. Kudos to the Chapter representatives and all participants for creating great memories. The goal behind this event was to bring all Sakhis together to keep the culture and heritage alive.

On Gaugaur, women worship Lord Shiva and Parvati. This 16-day long festival, which begins a day after Holika Dahan, culminates on the Gangaur day.

It was a mesmerizing evening and MMNA is looking forward for many more to come!!
