CHICAGO: The Gujarati Samaj Chicago (GSC) organized a Diwali Gala Dinner at Water Ford Banquet in Elmurst , a south side suburb of Chicago, November 1 with over 600 members and guests participating. The program commenced with Ganesh Vandana followed by the traditional lamp-lightning ceremony conducted by the GSC team and sponsors. All sponsors of the event – Ashok Shah, Dr Dhiren Mistry, Chirag Shah, Jayshree Thakkar, Vinod Thakkar and Niranjan Nathavani – were recognized for their support
A highlight of the event was the performance by the ‘Retro Se Metro’ musical group from India with singer and TV actress Roma Sharma, Nikita Vagela, Anil Rana, Chintan Rana and Priyanka Jain. At the end of the program, GSC past president Suryakant Patel announced the new advisory committee consisting of Arvindbhai Modi, Mukesh Shah, Suryakant Patel, Kamlesh Shah and Jayesh Patel.
