WASHINGTON: Talk show host Gurmeet K. Sodhi has been invited by the President of United States of America Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama to attend the AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islanders Commission) reception at the White House which to be held on June 22. This is the first time an Indian Talk Show Host will be attending such an event at the White House.

With almost a decade of experience as a talk show host, Gurmeet Sodhi is known as one of the most influential women in the South Asian Media community. Her invitation to the reception at the White House is a testament of that. She is recognized as a media personality and a household name with her unique style and execution of every episode. Gurmeet’s talk show – GS with GS (Gup Shup with Gurmeet Sodhi) kicked-off its third successful season on April 1.

Audiences of the show in India enthusiastically welcomed her in 2010 when she launched her first International Road Trip touring across various states and cities. Her show filmed episodes about social awareness, economic development, cultural richness, historical & religious landmarks amongst many other topics.

With her personal touch and ability to connect with her viewers, Gurmeet has strived to ensure that her show informs, educates and above all entertains all ages and demographics. She brings humor and talent in the way she handles all her guests and focuses her topics to incorporate everyday aspects of life.

Gurmeet continues to empower women and give back to the community through her philanthropic work. She also engages and encourages viewers by filming episodes where she reaches out to community-based programs to assist underprivileged children, the homeless, soup kitchens and various other needy organizations.

Her invitation to the White House was initiated by Mr. Amardeep Singh who serves as a Commissioner on the White House Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, appointed by President Obama. Mr. Singh is the first Sikh ever to serve on this commission.

It’s a lovely book. It feels energetically clear and light. It’s easy to read, dip in and out and most importantly it offers information without fluff! Blessings on this project.
