Guru Nanak College holds convocation ceremony

PHAGWARA: A total of 180 graduates and post graduates were bestowed degrees while 200 meritorious students were awarded prizes at the annual convocation-cum-prize distribution ceremony held at Guru Nanak College, Phagwara, March 30.

Narpinder Singh, Director, Research, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar presided over the function while Varinder Walia, Editor of Punjabi Jagran, was the special guest.

Gurdev Singh Randhawa, Principal of Guru Nanak College, read out the annual report of the college.

Jatinderpal Singh Palahi, College President, thanked the guests, participants and congratulated the degree holders.

In his motivating presidential address, Narpinder Singh told the students that they can achieve their fixed goals while using their valuable energy for constructive activities.

Walia asked the students to value time. He called upon them to safeguard the principles of ‘haq-sach’ according to the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh faith.

M.Com student Abhilasha and BA student Bhupinderdeep were declared the best students.

Kulwant Kaur of the Hindi department was honored for her outstanding services.

Besides others, the college management committee executive members Harbans Lal, Pardeep Singh Basra and Malkiat Singh Ragbotra, senior faculty members Bhupinder Kaur, Seema Kapoor, Savinder Singh, and Paramjit Singh were present.
