Indian, US delegates discuss bilateral trade

HOUSTON: US Senator John Cornyn and Indian Consul General in Houston Harish Parvathaneni met here to discuss a host of bilateral issues, along with possibilities of mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy.
The two delegates held talks on issues related to economy, energy, trade and immigration between the two countries.
“Today’s global environment provides many opportunities for our nations to partner, and it is encouraging to see what the Indian-Americans in Texas are doing to foster strong community,” said Cornyn, the co-chairman and a co-founder of the Senate India Caucus.
Parvathaneni, in his statement, said with enhanced prospects for cooperation in the field of energy and in view of the US shale gas revolution, we will witness in the next few years LNG exports from US to India.
“This will have a huge significance for Indian households and the industry. We look forward to Senator Cornyn’s support to realize the promising prospects in this regard for Indian and US companies,” he said. -PTI
