CHICAGO: In response to queries received from members patrons about disposal of their excess Jain Books, Magazines, and other printed Jain Literature, which they no longer need, and want to properly dispose off without any Ashatana or disrespect, JAINA has launched its JAIN BOOKS & Literature Recycle Project to provide a proper disposal avenue for surplus Jain Books.

downloadUnder this project, JAINA will collect any such surplus Jain Books, Literatures, magazines, and other Printed articles at one location and then share it with interested organizations and individuals in the USA first and then to India.

It urges all to take advantage of this project to send surplus Jain Literature to recycle. This project is only limited to the printed Jain Books in Good Condition, Readable, Complete, and not torn apart. It is made clear NOT to send any types of Jain Upakaran or religious artifacts and ship only surplus books to the following address.

Use “POST OFFICE MEDIA MAIL CATEGORY” for cheapest shipping cost option, applicable only to printed books. (Do not include any other items in the shipment, otherwise Post Office will not deliver and may return items back with additional postage billed to you.)

Send the Books to the above address before July 15, 2021.

 After collecting all the books, which are mailed by Jul-15th 2021 JAINA, will publish a list of all these collected books and the literatures on its website: https://jainelibrary.org, and send the follow-up with General Announcement.

Any person or organization (universities, Jain Center, etc.), who wants the book(s) can request on our website. Limits apply as follows:

  • Accredited Organizations & Universities – No Limits
  • Individuals – 10 books maximum per address
  • Books will be shared based on the First come – First serve request.
  • Shipping is only for the USA continental 48 states.
  • Shipping cost – We request the recipient to reimburse the shipping cost to JAINA Education Committee after they receive the books. You can reimburse by Paypal or Zelle or by Check. Link to the payment will be provided after Jul-15th.

 Finally, any Remaining/Leftover books after Sept-2021 will be shipped to India, and will be offered to the: Libraries, Pathshalas, Swädhyäygroups, Jain Center Accredited Organizations, Universities and, Individuals
