PHAGWARA: Eleven students from LPU School of Fashion Design are visiting Milan, Italy, for an internship and training program.

A varsity release said that they are pursuing this internship and training along with students from more than 12 countries including Italy, France, America, China, Korea, and Japan at one of the world’s leading fashion institutes, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) in Milan, Italy.

They will be spending three weeks at NABA, and will also be visiting Rome and fashion capital Paris.

The students started their journey with a visit to the NABA campus where they were oriented with Italian styling and prepared for the summer course.

Following this, the students visited the Duomo di Milano, the second-largest cathedral in the world. Apart from witnessing the exceptional Gothic church, they explored 40 years of Giorgio Armani’s career at the Armani/Silos exhibit. Mondo di Leonardo was yet another addition to the fashion designers’ dream.

The museum explored Leonardo da Vinci’s artwork through machine interpretation, musical instruments, and graphic design and 3D software. Furthermore, fabric sourcing in Rome, visit to the Eiffel Tower, Louvere museum, and the Grand Palais are scheduled.

Filled with enthusiasm, the students are not only getting classroom learning experience with several international students to top with unique teaching style, but are also getting to live every fashion designer’s dream.

They are exploring and learning from art and culture and would now be better able to communicate designs with holistic approach, making the Milan trip a very successful initiative.

Head of International Affairs at LPU, Aman Mittal, said: “LPU School of Fashion Design is one of the leading fashion schools in the country. We are glad that our students are getting exposed to such excellent opportunities on global platforms. In addition to students from fashion, students from various other programs like engineering and management are also visiting Canada, Australia, US, Sweden, France etc. under various student exchange programs. Providing global opportunities to students are one of the key areas of strength of LPU”.

NABA is a renowned academy nested in one of the world’s fashion capitals, Milan, and is recognized as the main sartorial hub in the country.

It was established in 1980, which is around the time when Milanese fashion established itself as a trendsetter. Keeping with global fashion industry trends, NABA is offering summer classes in fashion, accessories and textile designing, and styling, visual merchandising, and fashion marketing.
