LPU sets benchmark for placement of students

Students of LPU looking jubilant on their selection in multinational companies

PHAGWARA: Keeping up with its high standards, yet another batch from Lovely Professional University (LPU) has got placements in reputed companies, a varsity release said.

Last year, LPU students received the highest number of appointment letters in the region, according to university officials.

This year too, numerous national and international companies, including Fortune 500 companies and top global brands such as Amazon, Hewlett Packard, Abbott, IBM, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Verizon Data Services, Tech Data, Reliance, TCS, Google, and Microsoft have offered job opportunities to LPU students.

Today, LPU students are working at towering salary packages of Rs 1 crore and above in all these top companies.

Cognizant has so far recruited 2,226 LPU students. Companies such as Tech Mahindra, Amazon, Capgemini, Informatica, SAP Labs, Hitachi, Tivo Corporation, Hindustan Unilever, Federal Bank, Synopsys, Voltas International, SOBHA International, Trident Group, Vmware, KONY, Luminous Technologies, Tek Systems, Dishti Soft Solutions, KPIT Technologies, Schneider Electric, and Wipro have offered jobs to LPU students. The top 110 companies that recruit IIT students also recruit LPU students.

Packages touching Rs 28 lakh and Rs 19.75 lakh per annum have been offered to students by Amazon and Sobha Realty (Dubai), respectively, officials said. Over 20 international companies such as the Ritz Carlton, Voltas International, Hettich, Khimzi Ramdas, Sobha Developers, Emrill, Al Futtaim, Wilmar International, Al Thiqa Restaturant, Hyatt Regency, Qatar Airways, P and O Cruise and Cavin Care have also recruited students from LPU.

LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal said: “Our primary concern is to ensure our students get coveted placements in diverse fields. Our academic teams work tirelessly and train students in different modes so that they are preferred over others. Our university also has tie-ups with companies such as Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Texas Instruments, CISCO, Vmware, SAP, Informatica, PEGA, BOSCH, Cadence, Comptia, Virtusa, Juniper Networks, Cyient, and Automation Anywhere.

“These companies have setup their centre of excellence on the university campus. Special trainers from these companies keep visiting the LPU campus to provide top-notch training to students and make them industry-ready,”
