CHICAGO: Metropolitan Asian Family Services (MAFS) one of the oldest and most adhered to service for seniors in Chicagoland has announced naming its newly set up facility building on Devon Avenue as Shri Narendra Modi Senior Center

This is in recognition of Indian Prime Minister’s unique place among world leaders and he inimitable role in fighting global pandemic Coronavirus in India MAFS announcement mentions that “ in the midst of global pandemic, India’s Prime Minister stood tall as a global leader, a beacon of hope and a torchbearer of resources who spread his wings to not only protect the 130-crore people of India but also several other nations in the world.”

Continuing it says, “ Prime Minister Modi, you have accepted the challenge to soar above the world and to overcome barriers to success that would have caused others to falter and fail. You have been decisive where others have hesitated. You are recognized as a Global Icon for your tireless efforts. Truly, you are an inspiration. Like a symbolic Eagle! To commemorate our Global Icon Modiji, We are honored to announce that MAFS’15th Senior Center being built on Devon Avenue- the heartland of the Indian American Community in Chicago is being named Shri Narendra Modi Senior Center for Excellence.”

“This 20,000 square foot building will house the state-of-art Senior Center in this digital age. We are inviting India’s Honorable Prime Minister Modi Ji and our President Donald Trump of United States to participate in the dedication ceremonies in September /October 2020”.

The announcement was during a virtual fundraiser event organized by MAFS on July 31 that was attended among others by the Telangana Governor Dr MrsTamilisaiSoundararajan and US Congressman Dany K Davis. MAFS Executive Director Smt Santosh Kumar urged the Governor “we request you to kindly facilitate Prime Minister Modi’s participation at this event, according to his convenience. Madam Governor, we are not content to rest on our past laurels but together we have resolved to keeping marching forward,” she said, assuring that the good work that is being done by her organization will continue with vigor in coming days.
