Nagpur to host Laghu Udyog Bharti convention on August 16

NAGPUR: Laghu Udyog Bharati will organise its national convention in Nagpur in Maharashtra during August 16-18 to commemorate its Silver Jubilee year.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will be the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony while Union minister and local MP Nitin Gadkari will be the guest of honour on August 16, a senior functionary said on Monday.

Laghu Udyog Bharati is an all India organisation of Micro and Small Industries, inspired by the RSS ideology.
“Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Union Labour and Employment Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar will attend the seminars scheduled during the three-day event. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is also expected to attend, but her schedule is not confirmed yet,” said Govind Lele, General Secretary, All India Laghu Udyog Bharati.

Around 2000 representatives of LUB from across the country are expected to attend the convention, where nine entrepreneurs will be presented with the ‘first generation entrepreneur award’.
He said an exhibition to showcase the products and services of 18 states will be organised at the venue.

Replying to a query on the challenges faced by the small and medium scale industries due to the imposition of GST, Lele said Bharti has submitted a proposal to the GST Council in January 2018 demanding 25 per cent rebate on “the GST paid by small scale industries having (annual) turnover up to Rs 3 crore”.
“This demand is still pending with the GST Council. We hope the government will approve it,” he said. PTI
