NRIs in Chicagoland pitch for PM Modi

CHICAGO: It was “Modi, Modi” everywhere in downtown Chicago last week when a good number of NRIs decided to make their views heard by Indian voters who face general elections for Indian Parliament starting in April.

This happened when there was an Irish Parade in the same area and those who had chance to mingle with that parade took the opportunity apprise them of the Indian political situation as well.

The ‘NRIs 4 Modi’ meets in downtown Chicago and iconic Planarian Museum. Were essentially organized by the Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) but interestingly, it had non-BJP members attending as well.NRI 4 MODI

Despite bitter cold and inclement weather, scores of participates walked in from across Chicagoland and voiced their strong support for Narendra Modi in particular and BJP in general.

Nirav Patel, an active OFBJP member, said that in the course of the next two months, all OFBJP volunteers and other community members and leaders will be active and undertake campaigns to create awareness about the progress that India has made in the past five years under the Modi-led BJP government.

“ It is important to let the Indians back home know that it is not only they want NaMo to win but a large number of Indians abroad also want stability and good government in India,” Nirav said.

Those who gathered in Chicago downtown also took time to remember Manohar Parikarji , the Goa Chief Minister who died March 17week Rich tributes were paid to his memory and the good work that he did for Goa and India.
