Packed house enjoys Bollywood musical

SANTA CLARA, California: DanceDilSe mime dance-drama Bollywood musical, written and directed by Jyotsna Sharma (Jo) and organized by DanceDilSe team with support of FOG and other sponsors March 31 at Santa Clara Convention Center, was a successful event with a packed full house of kids, youth leaders and women.

The mimes and dance-drama received lot of applause with the cell phone concept of mime from DDS Santa Clara Branch, Save Animals with No to Plastic/Go-Green mime from San Ramon Branch, and No Bullying mime from Mountain House Branch. Twelve youth leaders of DanceDilSe gave spoke about their growth and learning being in DDS. One teenager’s sentence caught the attention of audience: “I was nobody before joining DanceDilSe and now I am somebody”.

The youth leaders were honored with plaques. “NO Means NO” drama by DDS core team connected well with women as it was about women’s empowerment. Almost 50 women entrepreneurs gave speeches about their achievements and were honored with plaques during a women empowerment walk.

As many as 70 dance groups that participated in the event were given certificates. A number of fashion shows were showcased, including a moms and kids round, new year celebrations of all Indian states round, Western outfits round and traditional outfits round.

3 DDS Women and Youth power

All proceeds from the event went to Orphans Kids Education. Around 2,000 people attended the event that was held from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
