Phagwara Mayor leads delegation to Union Health Minister

PHAGWARA: A delegatin of BJP and its Youth wing activists, led by Phagwara municipal Corporation Mayor Arun Khosla, called on Union Health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in New Delhi to congratulate him on his induction into the Union cabinet and to raise issues related to Civil Hospital, Phagwara.
They presented a bouquet to the minister.

Khosla told newsmen here that they pleaded with the Dr Harsh Vardhan to equip the local civil hospital with ultra modern healthcare facilities.
“Since Phagwara is the hub of Doaba region and located on the mainline/highway, the occurrence of accidents is common. But due to lack of trauma center and other modern facilities, patients are either shifted to private hospitals or referred to hospitals of other cities which caused a lot of financial burden on people, especially the poor ones who cannot shoulder the burden”, they told minister.

They also apprised the Union minister that villages of three surrounding districts were also catered to medically by Phagwara hospital.
They also appealed for ultra modern medical facilities for providing poor patients quality healthcare services at affordable rates.
Khosla said that the Union minister gave them a patient and positive hearing.
Besides Khosla, BJYM district general secretary Sahbi Tohri, senior vice president Gaurav Soni, senior party leaders Amit Shukla (Pinku) and Vivek Chadha (Saifi) were in the delegation.
