Leading short film company Humara Movie has acquired actor Prashantt Guptha’s inspirational short film, TU. Written and directed by debutante Sandeep Chandrra, this 17 minute film takes place in one location and is essentially one scene performed by Prashantt playing a dual character. The plot revolves around a mid-30’s man walking into a bar, reeling in his long built angst and frustrations about his life. One fine night, he has a body encounter with his spirit and over the course of a 15 minute dialogue, he comes out of his misery. The film ends with a heart-warming and powerful poem written and rendered by Prashantt, himself.

Upon seeing it, legendary and National Award winning actors Revathy and Manoj Bajpayee messaged Prashantt with praise for his work and the film. Said Bajpayee, “TU is a beautiful conversation between you and yourself.” Revathy had more deep-rooted words to express, “Beautifully written and great poetry. Especially very meaningful for me because I don’t hear my inner voice which when I was younger I always did. Thank you for awakening it again.”

Prashantt Guptha, who hails from New York, has played prominent roles in the films Neerja, the National Award winning film Irada, Issaq and Identity Card. This film marks his foray into the short film domain.

Director Sandeep Chandrra said, “I know the message would inspire each and everyone who watches it, but I was most blown by how quickly Prashantt Guptha transformed himself on set, to complete the shoot of both characters within 7 hours.”

TU has been released on the Humara Movie youtube channel.
