CHICAGO: Not only his relatives and friends but the business community at large here and in New York were saddened with news of one of its prominent members, Amrit V Patel succumbing to his long struggled against cancer here.
Amrit Patel died at his Schaumberg (a Chicago north side suburb) residence on Saturday May 29 2021 He was in his late sixties but looked much younger. He is survived by his wife Smt Bhagwatiben son Anand and daughter Zeena, his brother Mafat Patel is a businessman in his own right often descried as Uncrowned King of Devon, his elder brother Tulsi Patel is also a successful businessman. His funeral was held on Wednesday June 2 202 at Countryside Funeral Home in Bartlet, a Chicago Suburb, attended by many.
Amrit Patel migrated from Gujarat to this county in seventies and after a small swing for higher education followed his inborn business instinct deciding to start his own business. He was instrumental in starting ever growing Patel Brothers chain but he also dabbled into entertainment area besides many uncharged fields like Tours and Travel, Restaurant and ATM Credit card. He was CEO of 1st Bank Card Service with branches in New York and Mumbai. Being an immigrant himself he was pretty aware of struggles that newcomers into this country face and helped them whenever he could.
Being very jovial in nature he had a large number of friends and was a socialite in his own right. May God rest his soul in Peace!
