MILPITAS, CA: Bay area is getting its share of comedy shows this year. Organized by ‘As you like it’, This year’s Mother’s Day had a special showing of Sherman Joshi starrer play ‘Raju Raja Ram Aur Main’ at India Community Center in Milpitas on Sunday, May 13. This Hindi adaptation of Marathi play ‘Sah Re Sahi’ treated audience to bouts of smiles and involuntary laughter.
The play is based on the chase for property of an old and rich industrialist Madan Sukhnandani. Confusion arises when three of his undated wills make his ex-wife, his uncle and his current young wife as sole heirs. Each of them finds a Sukhnandani look alike to ensure the will favors them. What ensues is a two hour fun filled laugh riot as the three look alike characters masquerade as Sukhnandani.
Story was taut and acting perfect. Sherman Joshi performs the four roles with ease and finesse. Rest of the cast was equally talented and worked as a well oiled machine. Scene transitions, dialogs and costumes created a very realistic story that kept viewers thrilled.
