CHICAGO: It turned out to be an affair to remember for a group of seniors who had a three-day tour to Mackinac Island last month.

The tour organized by Hema Shastri was for Indian Seniors of Chicago and it took place from July 22 to July 24. 86 seniors visited Swami Vivekananda Ashram in Ganges, MI on the first day. They had a grand tour of the Ashram given by Swami Haridas.

The group also visited the Mothers Re-treat, another Ashram in Ganges l, MI next to Vivekananda Ashram. It was a very spiritual visit to both Ashrams. The group than enjoyed the scenic Traverse City, going thru the Grand Traverse Bay Area on the bus tour.
The second day was an all day visit to the Mackinac Island.

The group enjoyed ferry ride to the Island and a two and a half hour horse carriage tour of the island. No motor vehicles are allowed on the island. The only means of transportation is horses and bicycles, which the island police used as means of transportation.
