CHICAGO: Bhartiya Senior Citizens of Chicago, numbering close to 300, visited Ganges in Michigan State on May 7. They visited the Shrine Library, Swami Vivekananda Museum, book store, Shrine Trail and Spiritual Retreat.

The Museum display was highly interesting and enlightening. After lunch, the six buses took Seniors to Holland, Michigan for ‘Tulips Garden.’ It’s called Tulips Time as it begins May 7 and ends on May 14.

Tulip Time is Holland’s premier event and each year it is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Seniors enjoyed magnificent tulips. It’s no wonder Holland continues to receive top honors from America in bloom and recently was named winner of the outstanding achievement award for Floral Displays. The Seniors enjoyed rich Dutch heritage and stars of the show all along the 6 miles of Tulip Lanes.

BSC Seniors also visited Windmill Island. They visited delightful Dutch shops. They came back to their starting point in Carolstream and had a delicious dinner of Khichdi, Kadhi, Bhakhri, Potatoes Shak and Chhach (Butter milk)
