Southeast Asia’s top Malaysian University TU signs MoU with LPU

PHAGWARA: Southeast Asia’s top Malaysian University TU (Taylor’s University) and LPU (Lovely Professional University) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to lead students and faculty of both the universities in academic and research exposure, a varsity release announced.

Striving to be the best, TU is number one Private University in Malaysia, and included among top 1.3% of universities globally, top 1% in employer reputation; top 50 among ‘under 50’ in the world, and also rated in QS World University ranking at 349. This MoU marks an important milestone in the realization of LPU’s aim to globalize Indian education regularly. The School of Hotel Management & Tourism at LPU will foster a broader international outlook for their students with this pact.

The collaboration between the two top universities of the region sets forth the areas of developing research projects jointly and avail funding; exchange of academic information, materials and facilities; students and faculty exchange; organization/ participation in joint symposium, seminar, conferences, workshops; developing articulations for twinning/joint programs; allowing students to undertake part of the program/course of study at each institution; and, promotion of such other activities/programs as mutually agreed from time to time.

For this important collaboration; Vice President, International Students Recruitment & Institutional Partnerships of TU Dr Sheikh Fahmy Sheikh Mohamed and Registrar of LPU Dr Monica Gulati signed on the MoU. TU Director Institutional Partnerships Au Shieu Ye and Additional Director at LPU’s Division of International Affairs Aman Mittal will be Coordinators for their respective universities. Endorsing the commitment to the collaboration, Mr. Mittal shared that internationalization is at the core of LPU strategic objectives. This MoU with TU marks an important milestone in the realization of this aim. Both the coordinators anticipated that the signed understanding would pave the way ahead to a much wider and fruitful collaboration.
