Spell Bee adds Seattle to competition

SEATTLE, WA: The 2012 MetLife South Asian Spelling Bee continued its 11 city tour with the Seattle Regional – a new city added to the roster in 2012.
With a fantastic turnout, the bee attracted some top talent as well as young and new spellers that competed for the coveted prizes and titles.
“We were excited to bring the Bee to Seattle and look forward to more talent from the area”, said Rahul Walia, Founder, South Asian Spelling Bee.
In Seattle, Suvansh Sanjeev from Bellevue, WA was the regional champ and Anushka Nair from Lake Oswego, OR was the first runner up while Nikhilesh Kumar from Gold River, CA was second runner up.
“As the title sponsor of the Spelling Bee for the fourth consecutive year, MetLife congratulates all of the families who participated in this year’s event.
It was great to have such talented children participate and to share information with the parents about how they can prepare for the rising cost of college,” said Jeremy Taylor, CFP, Financial Planner, with the Financial Planning Division, An Office of MetLife, in Bellevue, WA.
The winners received cash prizes of $500, $300 and $200 respectively.
