NEW YORK: Star One is announcing a new name, logo and brand image for their channel: Life OK. The channel will now be known as Life OK, complete with channel rebranding and philosophy, and a logo that will be unveiled shortly. This channel is still part of the Star Network, and hopes to bring to its viewers fun, family general entertainment.

Life OK was introduced to the South Asian media and marketing fraternity at the famed Russian Tea Room, in New York recently by Star TV’s Executive Vice President for International Business Rajan Singh, as an entertainment channel that turns up the volume on the things that really matter, through its unique and poignant stories. Singh spoke about Star TV’s vision in the US, including all of the upcoming highlights of 2012.

The new channel logo and refreshed brand reflect the idea that “Life is OK”, reminding everyone to value family ties, relationships, traditions and peace of mind, while on their quest for success in life. The Life OK icon stands for everyone who is positive, full of energy and optimism, and perceives the good in life.

Programming on Life OK is completely different from Star One, since it encompasses the new “Life is Good” philosophy.

On the occasion, Singh also announced the two winners of the Western Union Main Bhi Star contest – Maya Desai and Saurabh Arora – both of who will be flown to India for an opportunity to appear on one of the channel’s primetime shows. Auditions for the contest were held at the AIA Diwali festival at South Street Seaport in New York City in October.

Also in attendance at the event were two US contestants from the last season of Just Dance – Anjuli Bhattacharyya and Kruti Shah.
