CHICAGO: The first Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Granth Sahib and Baba Nand Singh Jikalerawale Barsi was observed at Devon Gurudwara from August 30 to September 1.
The event was held with the cooperation, contribution and assistance from the whole Sadh Sangat. Langar was served all three days. Historically September 1, 1604, is the first Prakash Utsav of Guru Granth.

Guru Arjan Dev installed the Adi Granth at Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. Baba Buddha was the first Granthi and Bhai Gurdas completed the Adi Granth as dictated by Guru Arjan Dev. Later, Guru Gobind Singh added Shabads of Guru Teg Bahadur.

Guru Granth Sahib is the holy book or scripture for the Sikhs

Baba Nand Singh was identified as a saint in the Sikh religion. He was believed to be a highly enlightened person who acquired a distinct group of followers during his lifetime. Teerath Singh Trilok Singh and Bachan Singh rendered excellent service on all three days connecting the congregation to the true meaning of Sikhism.
In the end, they sang hymns from Guru Granth Sahib and explained how Guru Arjan Dev completed the Adi Granth.
