US Census Bureau: Social & Media Engagement

US Census Bureau Social & Media Engagement

One Month after the official Census Day of April 1st, the US Census Bureau is launching it’s national “Second Wave of Social and Media Engagement” to promote the 2020 Census and Self-Response on May 1st. Please join us in this great national campaign to get the final engagement out to your communities. It’s simple and easy! Here’s what you can do on May 1st:

Create a social media message:

Record a PSA video or post to your social media pages the following messages: “California: I need 10 minutes of your time. The Census helps California get the national resources and representation we need. Today, those needs are crystal clear. Help our state. Be Counted. Complete the census online at 2020census.gov or call 844-330-2020. #2020census”
Or use one of the following messages:

For Twitter: Did you know the #2020census is required by the U.S. Constitution? Respond online now: www.2020census.gov #censusfacts

For Instagram: Did you know the #2020census consists of 10 short questions and is used to count every person living in the United States, the five inhabited territories and the District of Columbia? Respond online now: www.2020census.gov #censusfacts

For Facebook: Did you know the census is required by the U.S. Constitution? Respond online now, #2020census: www.2020census.gov

Don’t have time or short-staffed?

Schedule and Re-post one of yours or an existing Census social medial post or videos on May 1st.
The goal is to create a groundswell of social media messages across all social media platforms on May 1st.

So please challenge and invite community influencers, partners, members, and constituents to joint this campaign. The more people who pledge and the more people who are challenged, the more people respond! Please see attached toolkit for more information and ideas to make this a success. Remember to include #2020Census in your posts.
