Veteran journalist Suresh Shah passes away

CHICAGO: Veteran Guajarati journalist Suresh Shah, 84, died here April 6 following a massive heart attack plunging his family members, relatives friends and newspaper associates into grief.
Suresh Shah worked with a group of prominent newspapers in Surat before migrating to this country in late 1982.

He kept up his flair for journalism and reporting after coming to Chicago and was freelancing for a host of newspapers – Gujarat Samachar, Akia Sandesh, India Post and Divya Bhaskar. He was a fearless writer and would not mince words calling a spade a spade but still had endeared himself with the community at large with his objective writings and amiable nature.

Suresh Shah was in the best of health till he faced a gall bladder problem a couple of years ago and also had minor heart ailment.

He leaves behind his wife Kapila Shah and daughters Sujarat and Sunita, sons Saumin and Suketu and eight grandchildren.
The family held a Bhajan Sandhya at their home April 7 while the funeral was held April 9 at the Bohemian Cemetery on Pulaski road in Chicago.
