PHAGWARA: Faculty of Hospitality, GNA University, organized a workshop on wine appreciation for students of hotel management and catering technology.
The workshop was hosted with the collaboration of Sula Wines.
Seema Trehan represented Sula Vineyards as a sommelier for the wine appreciation session where she shared her experience in guiding students of the university in sensory examination and evaluation of wines.

The sommelier made students understand the perceived flavours, aromas and characteristics of Rasa Shiraz (red wine), Sauvignon Blanc and Chennin Blanc (white wines) and Sula Brut (sparkling wine).
She discussed the key points/steps in the testing: colour, swirl, smell, taste and savor.
It was a very interactive session and students discussed their doubts and queries between the session. This workshop will help students become aware about different types of wines and their serving techniques.

Chef Varinder Singh Rana, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Hospitality applauded the efforts of faculty members for taking the initiative for organizing this session and encouraged them to do more. He elaborated on the career path of a sommelier to the students.

Dr V.K. Rattan, Vice Chancellor GNA University, congratulated faculty members of the Faculty of Hospitality for organizing the event.
S. Gurdeep Singh Seehra, Pro Chancellor, GNA University, appreciated the lead of faculty to provide live demonstrations to budding professionals and to make them ready for the global hospitality industry.
On this occasion, Abhishek Sood, Head, CRD, Dr Kusum, Ajay Chandel and Adit Ahlawat were also present.
