Wrestling summer coaching camp begins

PHAGWARA: A wrestling summer coaching camp began June 18 at THE Raipur Dabba Olympic Academy.
It was inaugurated by District Congress Committee President cum Punjab Mahila Congress leader Balbir Rani Sodhi.
To be held till June 30, it is being held by Punjab Sports Department.

Former international wrestling coach P.R. Sondhi, other coaches Ravinder Nath, Ravi Kumar and noted wrestler Amrik Singh is imparting free training to budding wrestlers in the camp.
Addressing the participants, Rani Sodhi motivated them to be health conscious by keeping away from ‘nashas’.
“Avail of the experience of seasoned coaches and reach the pinnacle of glory in the game,” she said.

She also distributed diet among the participants.
She assured the organizers that she will make every effort to bring financial help and more facilities for them from the Punjab government.
She was honoured with a memento by Academy chief P.R. Sondhi.
Senior Congress leaders Ashwani Sharma, B.S. Bagla, and eminent wrestlers Amandip Sondhi and Amritpal Ali were among those present.
